2014, A Collaboration Preview: Part 1

As 2013 comes to a close, here is a brief look at five of the twenty-two unique and new collaboration projects coming up in 2014.

Robert

Robert

As an avid sports fan and assistant coach for Deer Park High School, Robert and neighbors are planning an NCAA viewing party at a local Blue Ash/Montgomery bar and grill.  Bringing neighbors together over sports, raffling off local items and gift certificates, Robert and his committee hope to create an ongoing get-together where friends and neighbors can engage in some friendly team rivalry.

Nick

Nick

As a student with the School of Metaphysics, Nick has been involved in dream interpretation, and examining how to live the best life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Next year he will be gathering others on their own spiritual journeys for meditation circles and crystal healing discussions.

Tabitha

Tabitha

Tabitha has spent the past couple of months partnering with the Notre Dame Mission Volunteers.  By attending their meetings and other social events, she is recording the many experiences of these volunteers, telling their unique stories of work, life, and service.

Nicole

Nicole

As a gardener and active member of her church, Nicole has a deep concern for all people having access to food.  Along with her committee members, Nicole and the team are creating an event to highlight the need to provide affordable food options to food desert communities in Cincinnati.

Chris

Chris

As a recent transplant to the Eastside from the Westside of Cincinnati, Chris and his family are spending the year deepening their relationships with their new neighbors in the Blue Ash area.  So far, Chris has been invited to play cards with neighbors, shared meals, and has attended events with those who live near him.

I feel so fortunate to be able to say I know you all. I am so proud of the spirit and energy all of you have put into the things you are passionate about! I am in awe of what you have accomplished….

This post can be used to help people all over the country see the shift that is going on — from collecting people up into disability defined groups to connecting people up with interest based opportunities. From collecting to connecting. What are the values and beliefs that support the idea of collecting people, what are the values and beliefs that support the idea of connecting people? What are people in Cincinnati learning about the emergent future?

  4. Tom – I think the short answer is this takes a long time (longer than we realized initially), relationships are difficult, and it’s beautiful to see unfold. We can talk more in January in Savannah.
